Product Description

Product Overview

The Danfoss BMR Series is a low-speed, high-torque (LSHT) orbital hydraulic motor featuring an advanced geroler gear set design with shaft distribution flow. The geroler design provides automatic compensation under high-pressure operation, delivering reliable and smooth performance, high efficiency, and extended service life.

The BMR Series employs a roller-type stator/rotor pair with 6/7 tooth configuration, equipped with needle bearings for sustained efficiency and excellent performance retention under demanding operating conditions. This series covers models including BMR-160, BMR-200, BMR-315, and BMR-400, with displacements ranging from 160.8 cm³/rev to 401.9 cm³/rev. Continuous torque output reaches up to 380 Nm, with peak torque up to 540 Nm.

The BMR-160 serves as the mid-displacement classic in the BMR family, while the BMR-200, BMR-315, and BMR-400 deliver higher displacement and torque output for medium to heavy-duty propulsion and rotary drive applications across agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, and more.

As a premium aftermarket alternative to original Danfoss BMR Series orbital motors, this product is manufactured to strict Danfoss OEM specifications, ensuring 100% interchangeability with original equipment—direct bolt-on replacement with zero modification required. Every motor undergoes 100% simulated load testing prior to shipment to verify performance and reliability under rated operating conditions.

Key Technical Advantages

1. Advanced Geroler Gear Set Design
The BMR Series features a geroler gear set with roller-type stator/rotor pairs and 6/7 tooth configuration, providing automatic compensation under high pressure for sustained efficiency and smooth operation. The geroler design offers superior pressure capacity and longer service life compared to traditional gerotor designs.

2. Needle Bearings & High Load Capacity
The BMR Series is equipped with needle bearings throughout the range, significantly enhancing radial load capacity and shock resistance, effectively extending motor service life under heavy-duty operating conditions. The BMR-400, weighing 11 kg, reflects its more robust structural design.

3. High-Reliability Shaft Seals & Flexible Circuit Configuration
High-pressure shaft seals withstand significant back pressure, allowing motors to be used in parallel or series configurations—providing exceptional flexibility for complex hydraulic system designs.

4. Low Noise & Smooth Operation
The optimized distribution system meets low-noise operational requirements. The specially designed drive-linker extends motor service life. A purpose-developed flow distribution system minimizes operating noise levels.

5. Compact Footprint & Easy Installation
The BMR Series features a compact structure for convenient installation, supporting multiple mounting configurations and shaft options (straight key shaft, splined shaft, etc.) to accommodate various OEM interface requirements.

6. Premium Materials & Manufacturing Standards
BMR Series motors feature high-strength cast iron housings with precision-ground geroler gear sets. All critical friction surfaces undergo surface hardening treatment. Every unit is manufactured to strict Danfoss OEM specifications, ensuring 100% interchangeability with original equipment.

Application Areas

  • Agricultural Machinery: Self-propelled sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, small harvesters, forage harvesters, balers

  • Material Handling Equipment: Forklifts, scissor lifts, AGV drive wheels

  • Construction Equipment: Small rollers, milling machine traction drives

  • Turf Maintenance Equipment: Zero-turn mowers, golf course maintenance equipment

  • Industrial Equipment: Conveyors, winches, hoists, sweepers

  • Specialty Vehicles: Snow removal equipment, airport ground support equipment, trenchers

Expert Maintenance Tips

Installation Guidelines:

  1. Fluid Cleanliness: Maintain system fluid cleanliness to ISO 4406 18/16/13 minimum. Inlet fluid must pass through 10μm absolute filtration. BMR series motors are sensitive to fluid contamination—insufficient cleanliness will directly impact geroler gear set life.

  2. Case Pressure & Drain Port Management: BMR series motors are equipped with a drain port. When back pressure exceeds 2 MPa, the drain line must be connected to protect the shaft seal. Never plug the drain port—when leakage pressure exceeds 1 MPa, shaft seal damage may occur.

  3. Stator Gap Monitoring: For BMR series motors, the stator plane gap should be controlled within 0.03 mm – 0.04 mm. When the gap exceeds 0.04 mm, volumetric efficiency will decrease significantly—prompt service is recommended.

  4. Shaft Alignment: Precise alignment between motor output shaft and driven load is critical—misalignment significantly reduces needle bearing life and increases side loading.

  5. Operating Duty Limits: Continuous pressure is the maximum allowable value for continuous motor operation. Intermittent pressure is the maximum allowable value for 6 seconds per minute. Peak pressure is the maximum allowable value for 0.6 seconds per minute. It is recommended to operate motors within continuous duty ratings.

Routine Maintenance:

  1. Leak Inspection: Regularly inspect housing and shaft seal areas for oil seepage; replace seals immediately if leakage is detected.

  2. Fluid Change Interval: Initial fluid change at 100 hours, thereafter every 1000 operating hours or annually, whichever comes first.

  3. Bolt Torque: Mounting bolts must be torqued to Danfoss-specified values and re-torqued after initial operation.
