Product Description

AT197383 AT180926 Hydraulic Piston Pump AT227996 AT223519 AT428960 AT223519 AT353760 Hydraulic Oil Pump

I. Product Model Analysis

Series: AT/A series – refers to variable swash plate axial piston pumps.

Model: AT197383 – This is an “assembly code”. It represents a pump with a specific configuration, including

Precise displacement (e.g., 75 cm³/rev, 130 cm³/rev, etc.

Control methods (such as: pressure compensation, constant power, manual servo control)

Shaft extension forms (such as: rectangular splines, involute splines, keyways)

Oil port type and direction (e.g. SAE flange, metric thread)

Rotation direction (usually clockwise when viewed from the shaft end)

Sealing materials (suitable for mineral oil, water glycol or phosphate ester, etc.)

Ii. Performance and Attributes
The top design of the A series, AT197383, features the following outstanding performance and attributes:

Ultra-high pressure capability: Specifically designed for harsh working conditions, the continuous working pressure typically reaches over 350 bar, and many models can reach 410 bar, with even higher peak pressure.

Outstanding durability and reliability

Bimetallic cylinder block: The cylinder block is composed of a steel shell and a bronze inner lining, and is paired with a hardened steel distribution plate. It has excellent wear resistance and anti-seizing ability, especially in start-up, low-speed or polluted conditions, its performance far exceeds that of all-steel design.

Heavy-duty bearing design: Optimized for withstanding ultra-high pressure and high lateral loads, with an extremely long service life.

Multiple control modes: AT197383 may be configured with one of the following control modes:

Pressure compensation control: Automatically reset the displacement to zero after reaching the set pressure, which saves energy and protects the system.

Manual servo control: Directly and precisely adjust the displacement through the handwheel or lever.

Constant power control: Ensures that the input power of the pump does not exceed the set value and protects the prime mover.

Electro-hydraulic servo control: It offers extremely fast dynamic response and precise remote control.

High volumetric efficiency: Precise manufacturing processes ensure high efficiency even under ultra-high pressure, reducing energy loss and heat generation.

Strong contamination tolerance: The bimetallic design makes it have a relatively higher tolerance to oil contamination and greater reliability.

Iii. Installation Method
Flange installation: The pump is fixed to the bell-shaped cover or support with high-strength bolts through the installation flange on the casing. It is essential to ensure that the installation surface is flat and has sufficient rigidity.

Strict alignment: This is the most crucial step. The pump shaft and the prime mover (motor/engine) must be strictly aligned. High-quality flexible couplings must be used, and it is strongly recommended to calibrate them with a laser alignment instrument. Any misalignment will lead to vibration, noise and premature damage to bearings and shaft seals.

Bearing force: The pump shaft must not bear any radial or axial loads. It is strictly prohibited to directly install belts, chains or gears on the pump shaft for driving.

Oil port connection

Oil inlet: It is necessary to ensure sufficient oil supply. The oil suction pipeline should be short and thick to avoid empty suction. It is recommended that the vacuum degree does not exceed 125 mmHg.

Pressure oil port: Usually SAE 4 bolt flange or large-sized thread.

Shell oil drain port: Crucial! It must be directly connected back to the oil tank through a separate and unobstructed pipeline, and the pipe opening must be below the liquid level. The back pressure for oil leakage must be strictly limited to below 0.7 bar; otherwise, the shaft seal will be immediately damaged, leading to oil leakage.

Iv. Usage Method
Preparations before startup (top priority) :

Pump filling: After the first start-up or maintenance, clean hydraulic oil must be filled into the pump through the oil drain port of the casing to ensure that there is no air inside the pump body. Dry starting is devastating.

Confirm the rotation direction: Check the rotation direction indicated by the arrow on the pump housing (usually clockwise when viewed from the shaft end). Jog the prime mover to confirm that the steering is correct.

Parameter setting

If the pump is pressure compensated or constant power controlled, the adjusting screw of the control valve block on the pump body needs to be adjusted with a tool according to the system requirements.

All Settings must be made below the set values of the system safety valve and the system safety valve should be the ultimate protection.

Operation and Monitoring

Run the system unloaded for several minutes under low pressure (such as 50-100 bar) to vent the air.

Load gradually and closely monitor the noise, vibration and temperature rise of the pump. Abnormal knocking sounds or screams usually indicate a malfunction.

V. Usage Scenarios
Pumps are the Kings of heavy industry and are suitable for the most demanding application scenarios:

Pressure machinery: Large die forging presses, hydraulic presses, extruders (for aluminum profiles and plastics).

Metallurgical industry: Continuous casting machines (mold vibration) in steel mills, reduction systems in steel rolling mills, blast furnace mud guns and opening machines.

Injection molding: Large and extra-large injection molding machines.

Ship and Ocean Engineering: Steering gear, winch, deck Crane, propeller.

Hydropower station: Turbine guide vane control and speed regulation system.

Test equipment: Material testing machine, structural fatigue test bench.

Vi. List of Series Models
The A series is a large family. The public model naming of this series is not as regular as that of other brands, but it is usually distinguished based on displacement and control methods. The following are some typical ways to describe A series models:

For example, by control mode:

Series A pumps – Manual servo control

Series A pumps – with pressure compensators

Series A Pumps – Constant power control

Series A Pumps – Electro-hydraulic servo control

Common model code snippets (examples) :

You may come across something like A-130-PC-… The model, where 130 May represent displacement (130 cm³/rev), and PC may represent pressure compensation.

AT series related models
All models in the same series are high-pressure plunger pumps suitable for different equipment. The core structure and working principle are the same, but the compatible parameters are different. Common models include AT428960, AT180926, AT302661, AT227997, AT223519, AT191574, AT172603, AT223264, AT186167, AT227318, etc.
