Product Description
Product Overview
The Danfoss BMP and BMR Series are low-speed, high-torque (LSHT) orbital hydraulic motors featuring advanced gerotor/geroler gear set designs with shaft distribution flow, delivering low start-up pressure, smooth and reliable operation, high efficiency, and excellent performance retention.
The BMP Series features a compact, cost-effective spool valve design with gerotor gearing, offering a small footprint and excellent value proposition. The BMR Series employs a geroler gear set with roller-type stator/rotor pairs and 6/7 tooth configuration, equipped with needle bearings for automatic compensation under high pressure, ensuring sustained efficiency and extended service life.
This series covers models including BMP-100, BMR-250, and BMR-315, with displacements ranging from 96.2 cm³/rev to 317.5 cm³/rev. The BMP-100 serves as the classic model in the BMP family, ideal for light to medium-duty propulsion applications, while the BMR-250 and BMR-315 deliver higher torque output for medium to heavy-duty equipment drive systems.
As a premium aftermarket alternative to original Danfoss BMP/BMR Series orbital motors, this product is manufactured to strict Danfoss OEM specifications, ensuring 100% interchangeability with original equipment—direct bolt-on replacement with zero modification required. Every motor undergoes 100% simulated load testing prior to shipment to verify performance and reliability under rated operating conditions.

Key Technical Advantages
1. Advanced Geroler Gear Set Design
The BMR Series features a geroler gear set with roller-type stator/rotor pairs and 6/7 tooth configuration, providing automatic compensation under high pressure for sustained efficiency and smooth operation. The BMP Series employs gerotor gearing with a compact, cost-effective design. BMR models are equipped with needle bearings for significantly enhanced load capacity and service life.
2. High-Reliability Shaft Seals & Flexible Circuit Configuration
High-pressure shaft seals withstand significant back pressure, allowing motors to be used in parallel or series configurations—providing exceptional flexibility for complex hydraulic system designs.
3. Low Noise & Smooth Operation
The optimized distribution system meets low-noise operational requirements. The specially designed drive-linker extends motor service life. A purpose-developed flow distribution system minimizes operating noise levels.
4. Compact Footprint & Easy Installation
The BMP Series offers an ultra-compact footprint (≤Φ120mm) with integrated porting. The BMR Series features a compact structure for convenient installation. Multiple mounting options including flange and wheel mounting are available.
5. Premium Materials & Manufacturing Standards
BMP/BMR Series motors feature high-strength cast iron housings with precision-ground gerotor/geroler gear sets. All critical friction surfaces undergo surface hardening treatment. Every unit is manufactured to strict Danfoss OEM specifications, ensuring 100% interchangeability with original equipment.
Application Areas

Specialty Vehicles: Sweepers, snow removal equipment, airport ground support equipment
Expert Maintenance Tips
Installation Guidelines:
Fluid Cleanliness: Maintain system fluid cleanliness to ISO 4406 18/16/13 minimum. Inlet fluid must pass through 10μm absolute filtration. BMP/BMR series motors are sensitive to fluid contamination—insufficient cleanliness will directly impact gerotor/geroler gear set life.
Case Pressure & Drain Port Management: BMR series motors are equipped with a drain port. When back pressure exceeds 2 MPa, the drain line must be connected to protect the shaft seal. Never plug the drain port—when leakage pressure exceeds 1 MPa, shaft seal damage may occur.
Stator Gap Monitoring: For BMR series motors, the stator plane gap should be controlled within 0.03 mm – 0.04 mm. When the gap exceeds 0.04 mm, volumetric efficiency will decrease significantly—prompt service is recommended.
Shaft Alignment: Precise alignment between motor output shaft and driven load is critical—misalignment significantly reduces needle bearing life and increases side loading. The BMP Series supports radial loads up to 2,200 N.
Routine Maintenance:
Leak Inspection: Regularly inspect housing and shaft seal areas for oil seepage; replace seals immediately if leakage is detected.
Fluid Change Interval: Initial fluid change at 100 hours, thereafter every 1000 operating hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Bolt Torque: Mounting bolts must be torqued to Danfoss-specified values and re-torqued after initial operation.
Operating Condition Monitoring: It is recommended to operate motors within continuous duty ratings. Intermittent duty (6 seconds per minute) and peak duty (0.6 seconds per minute) are permitted for short durations only.
