The GHP1-D-2, GHP2-D-10, GHP2-D-37 and the full GHP1/GHP2 series are high-pressure external gear pumps from the Italian manufacturer Marzocchi Pompe. The GHP1 series covers displacements from 1.4 to 13.8 cm³/rev, while the GHP2 series ranges from 4.5 to 35.2 cm³/rev.

The GHP series is Marzocchi’s high-performance pump line, developed to meet the demands of extremely high-pressure applications. The pump body is manufactured from high-strength extruded aluminum alloy, while the flange and cover are made of spheroidal cast iron. Gears are crafted from case-hardened, tempered, and ground steel. Internally, aluminum bushings with hydraulic compensation zones and DU self-lubricating bearings ensure high efficiency and extended service life. The series is available in both unidirectional and reversible (bi-rotational) configurations.

1. Fluid Cleanliness Control

Maintain system fluid cleanliness to ISO 4406 19/17/14 or better. Install a ≤10 μm absolute filtration filter upstream of the inlet port.

2. Inlet Line Requirements

Inlet pressure must be maintained between 0.7 – 3.0 bar (absolute). Recommended suction line flow velocity: ≤1.5 m/s to prevent cavitation.

3. Coupling Alignment Precision

Ensure pump shaft-to-drive shaft coaxiality deviation ≤0.05 mm and angular deviation ≤0.5° during installation. Flexible couplings are strongly recommended.

4. First-Start Priming Procedure

Before initial startup, prime the pump by bleeding air through the drain port or a loosened outlet fitting. Perform 2–3 jog starts under no-load conditions until oil fills the pump cavity without air bubbles, then connect the load circuit for full operation.

5. Rotation Direction Confirmation

“D” indicates right-hand (clockwise) rotation; “S” indicates left-hand (counterclockwise) . Reversible versions support bi-rotational operation. Always verify that the drive motor/engine rotation matches the pump before installation.
