Product Description
Product Overview
The KF80 is a flagship model of the CASAPPA KAPPA (K) series cast iron hydraulic gear pumps, featuring a displacement of 80 cm³/rev and widely used in construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and industrial hydraulic systems. The KAPPA series is CASAPPA’s cast iron heavy-duty flagship range, with pump bodies constructed from high-strength cast iron in two parts (front flange and body), delivering robust structural rigidity and compactness specifically designed for high-pressure heavy-duty applications.
Founded in 1952, CASAPPA is a globally recognized manufacturer of hydraulic system components, with products widely applied in construction, on-highway vehicles, material handling, agriculture, mining, and industry. The KAPPA series covers displacements from 4.95 to 180.73 cm³/rev across five groups (20, 25, 30, 35, and 40), with peak pressures up to 330 bar and maximum speeds up to 4000 rpm.
We specialize in the R&D and manufacturing of high-pressure pumps, motors, and valve groups. The KF80 offers 100% direct interchangeability with original CASAPPA pumps of the same model—no modification required. Every unit undergoes 100% simulated load testing before shipment, ensuring performance validation under real-world operating conditions.
Note: KF80RF6/156-D15 is a KRACHT brand model, which belongs to a different brand system than the CASAPPA KF80. Mounting dimensions and interface configurations may differ. Please verify the original pump nameplate information before ordering.

Key Technical Advantages
1. High-Strength Two-Piece Cast Iron Body for Extreme Heavy-Duty Conditions
The KAPPA series features high-quality cast iron construction with a two-piece body design (front flange and housing), delivering exceptional structural rigidity and compactness. Compared to aluminum alloy bodies, cast iron provides superior structural stability and deformation resistance under extreme conditions of high temperature, high pressure, and high impact. With peak pressures up to 330 bar, this pump proves its reliability in heavy-duty applications.
2. Wide Displacement Range with Flexible Modular Design
The KAPPA series covers displacements from 4.95 cm³/rev to 180.73 cm³/rev across five groups (20, 25, 30, 35, and 40). The KF80 falls within the Group 30/35 range and supports series connections (same-group or cross-group) to form multi-pump assemblies, with options for common inlet or independent split circuits. This modular design provides exceptional flexibility for system integration.
3. High Volumetric Efficiency and High-Temperature Stability
Optimized gear tooth profiles and precision machining processes effectively minimize internal leakage and friction losses, ensuring high volumetric efficiency across the full operating range. The KAPPA series maintains high efficiency even under elevated temperature conditions, making it particularly suitable for continuous heavy-duty operations.
4. Long-Life Bearings and Low-Noise Operation
High-load-capacity bearing systems combined with precision-ground gears ensure long-term stable operation under continuous high-pressure conditions. Optimized gear meshing geometry combined with the excellent damping characteristics of the cast iron body effectively reduces operating noise. The robust and compact design delivers exceptional service life.
5. Comprehensive Built-in Valve Integration Options
The KAPPA series supports integration of multiple hydraulic valve functions, including safety valves, anti-shock valves, anti-cavitation valves, priority valves, load-sensing priority valves, and bypass electric valves. This high level of integration reduces external piping and fitting requirements, minimizes leak points, and simplifies system layout.
Application Areas

Commercial Vehicles—truck PTO-driven hydraulic systems
Expert Maintenance Tips
1. Verify Model and Configuration Before Installation
Carefully verify the complete model code on the pump nameplate—confirm that displacement, rotation direction, shaft type, flange specification, and port configuration match the original pump exactly. The “80” in KF80 denotes 80 cm³/rev displacement—different displacement models may have different mounting dimensions.
2. Confirm Rotation Direction
Verify the drive shaft rotation direction prior to installation—clockwise (D) or counter-clockwise (S). Mismatched rotation direction will cause immediate pump failure and may introduce metal particles into the entire hydraulic system. Double-check the original pump’s model designation before installation.
3. Coupling Alignment Precision
Ensure shaft concentricity between the pump and drive shaft is within 0.05 mm during installation. The KAPPA series cast iron body has high rigidity and is particularly sensitive to alignment accuracy. Excessive misalignment will cause premature bearing wear, seal leakage, or even shaft fracture. Use flexible couplings and dial gauges for precise alignment.
4. Suction Line and Inlet Pressure Requirements
KAPPA series gear pumps require an inlet pressure range of 0.7 – 3 bar (absolute pressure). Ensure the suction line is properly sealed with no air leaks, and the suction filter is not clogged. Select suction line diameter appropriately based on flow rate to avoid cavitation damage from insufficient oil supply.
5. First-Start Priming Procedure
After new pump installation or system overhaul, perform priming before first start. Jog the pump at low speed and low pressure for 3 to 5 minutes of warm-up until the pump body is fully filled with oil and air is purged, then gradually increase to rated speed and working pressure. Running the pump dry will cause irreversible damage to gears and bearings due to metal-to-metal contact.
6. Oil Cleanliness and Regular Maintenance
Replace hydraulic oil and return filters every 1,000 operating hours or per equipment manufacturer recommendations. Using hydraulic oil with cleanliness not lower than ISO 4406 18/16/13 will significantly extend pump service life. Monitor pump body temperature regularly; if it consistently exceeds +80°C, inspect the system cooling and relief valve settings.
