Expert Maintenance Tips

1. Verify PTO Ratio Before Final Pump Selection

Sunfab specifies the relationship:

n pump = z × n engine

Therefore, actual pump speed depends on both engine speed and PTO ratio. For SCP-064, the installation should remain within 1,900 rpm continuous and 2,500 rpm intermittent under the applicable configuration.

2. Do Not Treat nmax Limit as Normal Self-Priming Speed

The SCP-034 ISO documentation lists 2,250 rpm nmax and 4,550 rpm nmax limit. The higher limit requires suitable increased inlet pressure and must not be interpreted as a normal unrestricted operating speed.

3. Protect the Suction Circuit

At high speed, suction-side pressure loss and air ingress can strongly affect piston-pump reliability. Check reservoir level, suction-pipe size, filter restriction, inlet losses and PTO speed whenever abnormal noise, vibration, heat or reduced flow occurs.

4. Maintain External Drainage Where Specified
