Product Description

Product Overview

The HYDAC SB330 Series is a standard bladder accumulator platform designed for high-pressure hydraulic systems requiring energy storage, pressure compensation, shock absorption and pulsation damping.

HYDAC describes bladder accumulators as a versatile solution for:

  • Hydraulic energy storage
  • Peak flow support
  • Shock absorption
  • Pulsation damping
  • Leakage compensation
  • Volume compensation

The SB330 standard series is available in nominal volumes from approximately 1 to 50 liters and is rated for a permitted operating pressure of 330 bar. The standard temperature range is -10°C to +80°C. (HYDAC )

The three configurations requested are:

  • SB330-1A1/112A9-330A — 1 L
  • SB330-2.5A1/112A9-330A — 2.5 L
  • SB330-10A1/112A9-330A — 10 L

The 112A9 configuration appears in actual HYDAC SB330 products, but the current public HYDAC database more commonly displays standard 112U, 112S and other connection variants. For that reason, the exact port configuration of the 112A9 models should be verified against the original nameplate or project documentation instead of being assumed from another configuration. (HYDAC )

Our replacement accumulators are matched against the original model code, nominal volume, pressure class, bladder configuration, connection geometry and installation dimensions, with 100% simulated operating-condition testing before shipment.

Key Technical Advantages

High-Pressure Energy Storage

The SB330 stores hydraulic energy by compressing nitrogen inside a replaceable bladder. This allows rapid energy release during demand peaks and supports stable hydraulic pressure under transient conditions.

HYDAC specifically lists energy storage, leakage compensation, pulsation damping and volume compensation as core bladder-accumulator functions. (HYDAC )

Fast Dynamic Response

HYDAC highlights the rapid shock-response characteristics of bladder accumulators, making SB330 suitable for systems experiencing sudden changes in flow demand or pressure. (HYDAC )

330 bar Pressure Rating

The standard SB330 series is rated at 330 bar permitted operating pressure, supporting demanding industrial hydraulic applications. (HYDAC )

NBR Bladder and Carbon-Steel Shell

HYDAC documentation identifies standard SB330 construction using an NBR bladder and carbon-steel accumulator shell. This configuration is widely used for conventional mineral-oil hydraulic systems. (HYDAC )

Multiple Nominal Volumes

The SB330 platform covers multiple standard capacities, allowing system designers to select the required gas volume according to pressure range, transient flow demand and stored-energy requirements.

The three requested configurations provide:

  • 1 L
  • 2.5 L
  • 10 L

Serviceable Bladder Construction

HYDAC provides bladder assemblies and seal kits as replacement parts for SB330 accumulators, supporting maintenance rather than requiring complete accumulator replacement after bladder wear. (HYDAC )

Application Areas

  • Hydraulic Presses
  • Machine Tools
  • Injection Molding Machines
  • Metal Forming Equipment
  • Hydraulic Power Units
  • Industrial Automation
  • Hydraulic Test Benches
  • Construction Machinery
  • Agricultural Machinery
  • Forestry Equipment
  • Material Handling Systems
  • High-Pressure Hydraulic Energy Storage
  • Pressure Pulsation Control Systems
  • Hydraulic Shock Absorption Circuits

Expert Maintenance Tips

Calculate Pre-Charge Pressure Correctly

HYDAC specifies the following upper pre-charge relationship for the standard accumulator arrangement:

p₀ ≤ 0.9 × p₁

and a permitted pressure ratio of:

p₂ : p₀ ≤ 4 : 1

where p₀ is the nitrogen pre-charge pressure, p₁ is the lower operating pressure and p₂ is maximum operating pressure. These are maximum limits rather than universal permanent operating settings. (HYDAC )

Use Nitrogen Only

The gas side of the bladder accumulator should be charged with nitrogen. Oxygen or compressed air must not be used.

Install Vertically for Published Maximum Flow

HYDAC notes that the maximum flow values stated in the tables require vertical installation and an appropriate residual hydraulic-fluid volume inside the accumulator. (HYDAC )

Use Proper Safety and Shut-Off Equipment

For service and maintenance, HYDAC’s ACCUSET-SB arrangement combines the SB accumulator with a safety and shut-off block to provide controlled isolation and pressure release. (HYDAC )

Inspect Bladder and Sealing Components

Inspect the bladder, gas valve, O-rings and support components when:

  • Pre-charge pressure falls unexpectedly
  • System pressure fluctuates
  • Energy storage capacity decreases
  • Leakage is detected around the gas valve
  • Charge/discharge performance becomes abnormal

Match the Complete Model Code

Do not substitute:

SB330-10A1/112A9-330A

with:

SB330-10A1/112U-330A

solely because both are 10 L / 330 bar SB330 units. HYDAC offers multiple fluid-port connection and connection-size configurations, so the complete code must be checked. (HYDAC )

Perform Pre-Commissioning Verification

For a replacement accumulator, verify:

  • Vessel identification
  • Nominal volume
  • Maximum working pressure
  • Bladder compound
  • Hydraulic connection
  • Gas-valve type
  • Nitrogen pre-charge
  • External leakage
  • Hydraulic integrity
  • Installation orientation

Our replacement units can additionally undergo 100% simulated operating-condition testing for pressure retention, sealing, pre-charge stability and charging/discharging behavior before delivery.
